The top ten games that will define 2012's gaming

Twenty eleven was a great year and 2012 is setting itself up nicely, here follows a list of what i think will be the defining games of the year.

Assassins Creed 3

Assassin's creed promises to rejuvenate itself this year with new settings, characters and perhaps even the end of this epic saga spanning hundreds of years. Surveys and numerous rumors suggest the new game will be set in Japan, Early America or even (this is the one i am rooting for) World War Two. Imagine the how epic it would be to partake in the assassination of Hitler ( a successful one that is.). But right now we can only speculate until Ubisoft puts us out of our misery.

God of War 4

Keep in mind that this could still be a rumor at the moment, but Sony has hinted at a possible multiplayer component. Perhaps Kratos and his brother teaming up to escape the afterlife? All in all this could suit up to be something impressive especially considering how epic number three was.

Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock readies its plasmids for a third time, this time taking you to the floating city of Columbia. Keeping the series tradition of emerging you in a incredibly realized world gone wrong, Infinite opens up a whole new host of possibilities thanks to overhauled plasmids and what seems to be an emotionally gripping story were you've been tasked to rescue a woman called Elizabeth.

Mass Effect 3

This epic saga is gearing for its gripping finale, casting you in Commander Shepard's boots for the last time. A overhauled cover system, more finely tuned RPG mechanics and finally justifying your purchasing of kinect by adding the ability to literally shout orders at your squad all point to this being one hell of a ride.

Diablo 3

For years know Blizzard fans have been foaming at the mouth for the release of the third title in this fantastic hack'n slash series. With the release date looming overhead and promises of console versions not far off and enough loot to satisfy anyone's obsessive compulsion, we might just get the most addicting game of all time.

 Borderlands 2

Finally we get to go back to the desert hellhole that is Pandora. Armed with a host of new characters, literally millions of guns, snappy dialog, four player coop and of course Claptrap. If the former one was addicting there is no telling what havoc this game will reek on your social life and personal hygiene.

What'cha ganna do when i come for you?

Grand Theft Auto 5

GTA is one of gaming's biggest success stories, the appeal of going anywhere and being able to do anything to your hearts content appealed to all ages and groups. Now the series is set to come back once again this time set in Los Santos. With the always great writing of Rockstar games, this is one that you will want to keep cash waiting for.

Guild Wars 2

A Asura, Charr, Human, Norn And Sylvari walk into a bar

Guild Wars sets out to reinvent itself this year breaking almost everything form the previous game to tiny chunks and gluing itself back together in a completely new form. with game play not unlike World of Warcraft, great graphics and enormous boss fights at level five, we can only hope this one is the success MMO fan boys Claim its going to be.

Darksiders 2
Casting you once again in the shoes of one of the four horsemen, Darksiders 2 story runs parallel to that of the original. Upgrades to the combat system, the addition of loot, different armor sets and even skill trees makes it more RPG orientated and much, much more interesting. Weapons include: Dual wield scythes, a hammer, throwing weapons and much more promised.  Here is hoping for a new game plus to enjoy the apocalyptic chaos fully powered up.

Ninja Gaiden 3
Ryu is back and this time he's pissed. Team ninja has set out to give Gaiden three a unique dark feeling and promises people the meaty and deep combat they love with competitive and cooperative multiplayer also on the table, this is one to keep your eye on at all times.
