The video game industry is a tricky and adaptable beast, capable of drawing in people ranging from all ages and groups.
This year at the rAge expo I saw people from toddlers to grandpa's playing everything from Dark Souls to Just Dance 3.
Now its common knowledge that the industry is in large part held up by generic "games are cool bru" crowd of slightly ignorant players, they are the one who pay and keep the developer alive. Whilst it's the hardcore fanbase that keep the game alive by writing fan fiction, bringing problems, suggestions and mods to the table.
The problem developers face is writing their fiction deep so fans can dive in and explore every nook and cranny of the universe and the "games are cool bru" crowd can enjoy it without feeling overwhelmed.
So congratulations to the developers who succeed in doing this, including Epic Games, Bioware, Ready at Dawn and last but not least Bethesda.
Thank you for stealing hours of my life.
